Ceremonies, holiday craft fairs and more: Carson City region set for Veterans Day weekend

Heading into the Veterans Day weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next four days. Events include live comedy, art and heater, multiple holiday craft fairs around Carson City and Carson Valley as well as several Veterans Day ceremonies and offers of gratitude to vets and active duty members of the U.S. military on Monday. What is Fight Camp? It is a mix of martial art drills, acrobatic conditioning, circus conditioning and boot camp style circuit. Carson City local wins 24 Hour World Time Trial Championships

Shane Trotter, a Carson City native, won the 30-39 age group at the 24 hour World Time Trial Championships held this weekend at Borrego Springs, Calif. People come from all over the world to race for 24 hours.

Healing Qigong Part 1: A 6-week Qigong series will be offered Nov. 7 through Dec. 19 by instructor Deborah Stevenson at Carson City Yoga.

This relaxing, six-week qigong series promotes balance and renewal, perfect for this holiday season. Healing Qigong Part 1 consists of ten easy movements with an emphasis on gathering “chi” from the universe and learning how to move energy throughout the body.
