Dayton Farmers Market Opens This Thursday
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 06/19/2019 - 10:53amDAYTON — Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties hosts its farmers market in Dayton for the 10th summer in a row. The market will be open on Thursday evenings from 4-7 pm this summer, beginning June 20th. It will be co-located with Healthy Communities’ new community garden, known as the Solidarity Garden. This will offer market patrons the opportunity to join the community garden as well.

She makes excellent compost from fresh horse and chicken manures, which she combines with green vegetable, fruit and kitchen waste. She then turns it with her tractor. And, coming from a ranching family who grew their own food, she has an innate sense of how to garden successfully.

I did not plant these; the birds did. The seeds spread in the wind or I accidentally spread seeds when deadheading.

State museums in Nevada offer free admission for active-duty military families

The National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families program, now in its 10th year, launched the 2019 program on Saturday, May 18 – Armed Forces Day – and it will stay in effect through the Labor Day Weekend.
