Carson City's Proscenium Players Inc., take on legendary 'War of the Worlds' radio play
This production is an homage to the iconic radio teleplay, "War of the Worlds." On Oct. 30, 1938, audiences across the nation tuned-in to hear the incredible account of a Martian crash-landing on earth, prompting news stories of widespread panic. Re-live the horror of the original alien invasion story, just as Orson Welles and his Mercury Theater Company had imagined it!
Performances will consist of readings of the teleplay for a live audience as well as broadcast on Carson City community radio at a later date. Actors will speak into microphones while they and technicians use Foley effects to fool the ears of the listener and bring this fantastic story to life.
Performances are Friday, Nov. 22, 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 23, 7 p.m.
Come see us at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St., Carson City, in the Maizie Harris-Jessie Theater (black box theater, entrance is on the cafe).
