Capital City Community Presents Annual Holiday Spirit Concert Dec. 5
The Capital City Community will, once again, welcome the holidays with a free concert in the Boldrick Theater in the Carson City Community Center on Sunday, December 5 at 3 P.M.
The band, under the direction of Nick Jacques, will present a variety of Christmas music from the lighter side of the holidays with “Poor Express” and “Sleigh Ride” to the more traditional carols, including, “Midnight In Bethlehem”.
The band has been presenting free concerts since it was founded by Richard Doede in 1978 and consists of volunteer musicians from Carson City and the surrounding areas.
The age of the musicians ranges from 14 years old to 80+ years old and rehearses every Thursday evening.
“We all just love to play our instruments and enjoy sharing this love with our community”, said Carol Doede, a clarinetist and founding member of the band.
All concerts are free and while all the performers, including the director, are volunteers, there is still a financial responsibility required. Therefore, donations are cheerfully accepted.
Please join us in welcoming the holiday season on Sunday, December 5 at 3:00 P.M. in the Carson Community Center.
