Carson City Fire Department respond to Brunswick Canyon for brush fire
UPDATE 3:32PM: The fire at Brunswick Canyon is now contained, said Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon. Firefighters were able to get it to containment at around 2:45 pm with anywhere between four to five acres burned.
Approximately 50 firefighting personnel were on the scene including three engines and a rescue from Carson Fire as well as crews and support from NDF, BLM and an NDF helicopter, said Slamon.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

UPDATE: 2:55 PM: According to the Carson City Fire Department, both the Nevada Division of Forestry and federal Bureau of Land Management crews have arrived on scene to assist in fighting what is being called the "Mill Fire," which started in the Carson River Canyon off of Brunswick Canyon Road at around 1:30 p.m.
The fire has now grown to more than three acres in size as of 2:30 p.m., officials reported.
Firefighting crews are currently receiving helicopter air support.
The Carson City Gun Range at 4000 Flint Road in East Carson City has been closed due to the fire, the CCFD reported.

Carson City Fire Department was called Friday afternoon to a brush fire in a canyon area off of Deer Run Road near Highway 50.
The call came into dispatch at around 1:30 p.m. of a brush fire in the area. Multiple fire engines were called to respond.
We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
Motorists should avoid the area to allow fire trucks inside the canyon.
