Carson City weekend arrests: Woman jailed for suspicion of felony domestic battery

A 28-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday in the 200 block of Fleischmann Way for felony suspicion of third offense domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Tiara Sherrel Thomas was taken into custody at 11:52 p.m. According to the arrest report, deputies observed multiple scratches to the victim’s body and neck. The suspect had dried blood on her lip. She told an officer she didn’t know how she was bleeding but assumed it was from her husband.

The husband stated he was hit and scratched by the woman. He stated he did not throw anything at her but stated he did “throw” her off of him to protect himself, the arrest report states. Bail: $15,000.

In other bookings:
— An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday in the 1700 block of Camille for felony suspicion of possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and three misdemeanors, a Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team sergeant said.

Jonathan Huttman was taken into custody at 4:38 p.m. following an investigation. Officers recovered currency tightly rolled that had cocaine residue on the tip, plastic baggies with marijuana, a digital scale, glass pipe and numerous large cans of butane, often used to extract THC oil from marijuana.

He also faces charges of possession of marijuana paraphernalia under the age of 21, failure to make a complete stop at a stop sign and improperly displayed license plates. Bail: $8,821.

— A 34-year-old Carson City man, Keith Price Jr., was arrested Saturday, 7:19 p.m. in the area of Continental and Woodside Drive for felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,637.

— A 28-year-old Carson City woman, Tonya Young, and her 50-year-old mother, Juanita Raye Young, were arrested Saturday, 10:40 p.m. and 10:58 p.m. in the 3000 block of Highway 50 East for felony suspicion of possession of meth and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,637 each.

— A 27-year-old Fiddletown, Calif., woman, Leayla Marie Wisnieski, was booked into Carson City jail Saturday for a felony warrant issued out of Reno Township Justice Court. Bail: $10,000.

— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 11:05 p.m. in the area of La Loma and Selby streets for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, failure to stop at a stop sign and driving while talking on a cell phone.

According to the arrest report, a traffic stop was made after the man was observed going through a stop sign, making no attempt to stop. An officer made contact with the driver and observed slurred speech and had a moderate odor of alcohol on him. The man agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. He blew a preliminary breath test of .111. Bail: $1,361.

— A 33-year-old Dayton man was arrested Saturday, 9:57 p.m. in the area of Gordan and Fairview for a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $1,000.

— A 54-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 7:56 p.m. in the area of 10th and Curry streets for misdemeanor trespassing, disorderly conduct and obstructing. Bail: $896.

— A 29-year-old Reno man was arrested Saturday, 7:56 p.m. in the area of Carson River Road near Lloyd’s Bridge for suspicion of gross misdemeanor possession of a concealed weapon. Bail: $2,500.

— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 12:07 p.m. in the 700 block of East College Parkway for misdemeanor suspicion of obtaining money under false pretense and violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,637.

— A 47-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 8:31 p.m. in the area of Sherman Lane for a misdemeanor warrant, violation of bail conditions.

— A 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 10:47 p.m. at a Condor Circle residence for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, the woman admitted to punching her husband in the face during an argument. Bail: $3,137.

— A Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 7:26 p.m. in the 3700 block of South Carson Street for a misdemeanor failure to appear traffic warrant. Bail: $295.
