Guthrie’s chicken finger restaurant may be coming to Comstock RV Park in Carson City
Construction at the Comstock Country RV Resort, located at the corner of Carson Street and Old Clear Creek next to Bodine’s Casino, has been ongoing for several months.
According to Planning Manager Heather Ferris, the Planning Commission approved a Special Use Permit in August 2022 that reduced the number of RV spaces at Comstock from 150 to 82.
In addition, the SUP eliminated RV storage, improved onsite circulation, and extended the use onto the adjacent property.
The property was split into four parcels, including the 6.35-acre parcel that now houses Comstock RV Park.
At the time that the parcel map was recorded in 2022, the applicant did not have specific uses for the remaining three lots.
However, since that time, the applicant submitted a building permit application for the construction of a Guthrie’s drive-thru, dine-in restaurant on a portion of the fourth parcel.
The building permit is currently in review, and at this time, there are no additional applications for the other two parcels.
Guthrie’s is described as “The Original Chicken Finger Restaurant” which was first established in Alabama in 1965 and has since become a franchise.
Menu items include fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, sweet tea and more.
It is not known at this time when the application will be processed and/or approved. We will continue to update on its progression.
