Carson City deputies make multiple warrant, battery arrests over weekend

A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday at a Harbin Avenue residence for a gross misdemeanor warrant alleging abandonment of an elderly person, a sheriff's office report states.

According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team made the arrest of the man after making contact at 5:46 p.m.

The warrant was issued Nov. 3 out of Carson City Justice Court. He was taken to jail and also later booked on a petit larceny warrant. No other details were available. Bail: $3,000.

In other arrests:
— A 33-year-old woman, Jessica Marie Haflich, was arrested Saturday for a felony warrant alleging attempted residential burglary. The warrant was issued Nov. 3 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $10,000.

— A 25-year-old Carson City man, Ian Michael Friesell, was arrested Saturday, 10:28 a.m. in the area of Saliman Road and Long Street for a felony warrant alleging possession of stolen property. The warrant was issued Nov. 3, 2020 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.

— A 20-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and two alleged gross misdemeanor offenses. Aniesa Mondoza was taken into custody at 5:24 a.m. She also faces charges of suspicion of gross misdemeanor battery on a police officer and obstructing a police officer.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to a Dori Way residence for a report of a woman in a residence backyard knocking on a door.

Officers arrived and located the woman, who was extremely disoriented and was trying to climb over a back fence. Officers made contact with the woman, who was unable to answer or identify herself when asked her name. She was asked if she knew where she was or if she needed medical attention. The woman was unable to answer the questions and acted disoriented, according to the arrest report.

Deputies helped the woman to a patrol vehicle where she was again asked to identify herself. Officers could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from her person. She was unable to provide her name or date of birth. While searching for identification, a deputy located a small baggie of methamphetamine. She was placed into handcuffs and transported to Carson Tahoe Hospital to be medically cleared.

Once she was medically cleared by staff a deputy escorted her back to a patrol vehicle, where the woman became verbally aggressive as the officer was attempting to place her in the patrol vehicle. The woman then became physical with the officer and attempted to resist getting into the back seat, the report states.

The officer was kicked twice in the legs by the woman who continued to resist. She was booked for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, battery on a protected person and obstructing an officer. Total bail amounted listed: $7,500 bondable.

— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 4:31 p.m. for suspicion of gross misdemeanor destroying or injury property of another, and misdemeanor domestic battery.

According to the arrest report the suspect allegedly pushed the victim to the ground and held her to the ground with a knee to the chest during an argument. An officer observed bruising on the woman's left and right upper arm and a red mark on her left cheek.

The suspect also allegedly threw the victim's cell phone, breaking it into multiple pieces.

Officers were able to make contact with the suspect after going to a relative's home and then making contact with him via cell phone. The man admitted he thew the cell phone breaking it, but denied the confrontation was physical. Total bail amount listed: $5,274.

— A 55-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for a misdemeanor warrant issued out of Douglas County. No bail amount listed.

— A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday in the 1600 block of Truckee Drive for a misdemeanor warrant alleging petit theft. The warrant was issued Oct. 28 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.
