Carson Valley couple to open 10,000 square-foot indoor children's play-park
Carson Valley’s first indoor play-park is cutting the ribbon this Wednesday, Dec. 20 for the official grand opening of Run, Rattle & Roll, an adult-supervised, children’s indoor play-park with a convenient parents’ lounge and healthy snack bar area.
While the snow is so delightful, the weather in Northern Nevada can be quite frightful during winter months leaving parents in search of indoor activities for their children. Husband and wife team Sherese and Francis Nguyen made the move from Las Vegas to Minden last summer and quickly realized the opportunity to open a facility like they had enjoyed frequenting with their three young children in Las Vegas.
“When living in Las Vegas we had several indoor play options for the hot summer months," said Nguyen. “Moving to Northern Nevada we saw that there wasn't many indoor play facilities. With three children of our own and all under the age of eight, my husband and I knew we wanted to bring this type of indoor playground facility to the community, and really give them some place to let their kids run wild and really have a good time.”
Run, Rattle, and Roll occupies a 10,000-square-foot facility at 2589 Wildhorse Dr. just off of Johnson Lane. Open to children infant to 12 years of age, Run, Rattle & Roll will offer families throughout Douglas County, Carson City and across northern Nevada a safe and clean indoor playground that will encourage active play. According to the website, “This facility will bring fun all year round, even in the most extreme cold temperatures.”
“My husband and I have a background in playing sport’s and staying active throughout our childhood. We really think it’s important for kid’s to stay active and exercise,"said Nguyen. “When building Run, Rattle & Roll we wanted a play structure that brought innovative play areas to keep kids exploring, and to create a large space to give options for endless active fun.”
According to their website, the play-park will be a family friendly destination dedicated to creating a safe environment. All of the equipment in the facility is safety-tested and approved. The staff at Run, Rattle and Roll are CPR, first aid certified, and background checked.
“My husband and I know that in today’s world keeping your kids safety in mind is always the most important concern as parents or caretakers,” said Nguyen. “We are a family friendly destination dedicated to create a safe environment for kids to have fun.”
While the children are playing, adults can relax or get some coffee at the “Grizzly Snack Shack” with free WIFI access throughout the facility. The snack shack will offer a variety of lunch and healthy snack options, as well as a place for parents to gather and socialize, according to their website.
“We’re not limited on the hours that we have open play — with parent’s busy schedules they have the option to set their own play dates,” said Nguyen. “This will be such a great spot to come hang out with friends and family to gather and watch the kids have the best time ever.”
Run, Rattle and Roll will be open beginning Wednesday, Dec. 20. Daily admission is $13. Ten-day passes and yearly memberships are also available.
