Foot screening, blood glucose screening, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, body composition analysis and arm chair massage. Grand opening of Clinic at Walmart on Monday

The clinic is located inside the Walmart located at 3770 South Highway 395 off Topsy Lane.
Carson City man dies in motorcycle accident near Genoa
Submitted by editor on Mon, 10/18/2010 - 12:58amA Carson City man died Saturday when the motorcycle he was riding went off the side of the road and crashed about two miles east of Genoa, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports.
Christian Joseph Coleman, 59, was driving east on State Route 206 (Genoa Lane) when, for unknown reasons, his motorcycle went off the right side of the roadway and crashed, said NHP Trooper Matt Kaplan. The accident happened at about 9:45 p.m.
Coleman was riding a 2003 Harley Davidson. He was transported to Carson Tahoe Hospital by Care Flight where he later died.

It is the seventh year for the program, and by all measures it keeps on growing and has been tremendously successful, health officials said at a press conference this morning.
Last year, there were 8,000 seasonal flu shots given and 21,000 H1N1 shots administered, health officials said.
Carson City man admits abusing toddler; faces felony child abuse charge
Submitted by editor on Mon, 08/02/2010 - 11:26amA 23-year-old Carson City man faces a felony child abuse and a gross domestic battery charge after admitting to abusing a 20-month-old toddler.
David Phillip Gawdun, who lives in the 1700 block of Russell Way, is being held on $43,132 bond in the Carson City Jail after he was arrested on Saturday. In an interview, he has admitted to slapping the girl and other instances of child abuse on the toddler and the girl's 3-year-old brother.
Child falls out of raft into Carson River, taken to hospital by Carson City fire and rescue
Submitted by editor on Tue, 07/20/2010 - 6:22pmA two-year-old boy fell out of a raft in the Carson River near Brunswick Canyon tonight and was transported to Carson Tahoe Hospital.
The condition of the boy is unknown. According to emergency dispatch and personnel at the scene, the child was unconscious but was breathing at the time of the rescue and subsequent transport to the hospital.
Carson City mom faces felony child abuse charges after ER finds meth in infant's system
Submitted by editor on Mon, 07/12/2010 - 12:33amA Carson City woman who told authorities she had smoked methamphetamine and then fell asleep next to her infant daughter faces felony child abuse charges after the baby tested positive for the drug.
Charlene Marie Benitez, 22, is being held at the Carson City Jail on $50,000 bond after being arrested early Saturday morning. Charges include felony child endangerment and abuse that caused the infant physical or mental harm. The condition of the infant is unknown at this time.
Subsequent portions of the investigation report appear to be withheld.

Douglas County Sheriff's Office issues release in stabbing incident
Submitted by editor on Mon, 06/21/2010 - 3:54pmOn Sunday, at approximately 1:30 pm, officers of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to 1268 Esther Wy, Minden, for an unknown disturbance.
An anonymous female who resides in the neighborhood called DCSO dispatch and advised that there was some kind of disturbance occurring at 1268 Esther Wy.
Upon arrival at the location, deputies learned that 39 year-old Keith Watrous, a resident of Carson City, had entered the residence of his ex-girlfriend, 37 year-old Sabrina Pallo, without her permission.
Douglas County authorities investigate stabbing; two injured in domestic dispute

In the dispute a man was stabbed in the back and found traveling in a car with a female where they wound up at a Carson City residence. The man was taken by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center. The other victim in the dispute was taken to Carson Tahoe Hospital.

Carson Tahoe upgrades patient care at the Regional Medical Center

These developments include televisions in surgical waiting areas, an Emergency Department IT system complete with patient monitors, and emergency cots to prepare for crisis situations. These developments were made possible with help from the CTRH Auxiliary and Carson City Health and Human Services.

Domestic abuse calls keep Carson City officers busy over weekend

Most involved drinking, with at least one of the cases resulting in a woman being taken to the hospital after she was punched and kicked in the head and face.

A 21-year-old unemployed Carson City man was arrested on domestic battery charges after he allegedly grabbed his girlfriend from behind and held a tight hold on her until she collapsed. The incident happened at North Roop and Northridge streets at about 3 p.m. on Sunday.

An article in the Nevada Appeal this morning attempts to get new information from the Nugget Project’s “go to guy,” Steve Neighbors. Neighbors, who is now the owner of the Nugget, is quoted as saying that the project still lacks a developer to shoulder the “private industry” half of the project. That’s about all that’s new from Neighbors, that they STILL don’t have a private partner.
