Summer youth photography workshops offered at Carson City studio
Lauren Casto, an experienced photographer and owner of Brick + Pine Studio, is offering two distinct photography workshops this summer for children and teenagers at her studio in Carson City. The workshops aim to provide a comfortable and inspiring environment for young people to learn and grow their photography skills.
Carson High Football to host Senator Youth Football Camp June 17 - 19
Join the Senator Youth Football Camp for K-8th graders. $80 covers 3-nights of camp from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., June 17, 18, and 19. Led by the CHS high school coaches and players, children will learn techniques for all positions, play games, and compete.
Carson City High School Tennis Clinic June 17-20
CHS Youth Tennis is hosting a clinic June 17, 18, 19, 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Come visit the Carson City Library and hang out in a space designed with teens in mind! Monday-Friday 2:30pm-5:30pm. All teens welcome!

Signing Sea Otters Storytime at the Library

Grown Up and Guppies at the Carson City Aquatic Center
Head over to the Carson City Aquatics Center every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for Grown ups and Guppies. Making the water fun for your guppy is the most important step in preparing for swim lessons. This class is designed to acquaint adult and child with play activities and to teach very basic fundamental skills. The course is parent-driven, under the supervision of an instructor. No registration required. Class is limited to 12 adult/child pairs on a first-come first served basis. For ages 6 months to 4 years.
Storytime Wednesdays at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada
Join in for weekly storytime with an accompanying craft each Wednesday. Recommended for children ages 1 - 6. All included with museum admission.
Art Studio Craft Classes at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada

For elementary school aged children. Build self-led creations through hands-on learning with Lego education materials. No registration is required. From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Bedtime Bears Storytime at the Carson City Library

Carson City Symphony’s Summer 'Rhythm & Strings' program begins Thursday
Symphony Education Director Micah Dunn will lead participants in a new activity each week. The program is designed to include younger students and violinists, violists, and cellists of any age who are able to play a one-octave D major scale and read notes within the staff. More experienced players are welcome to join.

Fingerboarding Club at the Carson City Library
Enjoy doing tricks and having fun with miniature skateboards. A table will be set up with a skatepark for an hour of fnigerboarding. Fingerboards will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Open to patrons 14 and up. No registration required. From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Douglas: Music, Chautauqua and Local Author at Dangberg Historic Park June 20
On Thursday, June 20, from 6:30 – 8:00 pm, The Sierra Sweethearts will play a blend of bluegrass music spiced with humor. Thursday evening concert ticket prices are $20 for 17 years and older. Youth 16 years and younger are free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be purchased at the event.
Teaching Time With Tofi at the Carson City Library
Come teach our furry friend Tofi how to shop for groceries, sort blocks, build railroads, and more! Every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at 11:30am in the Kennedy Children's Corner. Open to kids of all ages. No registration required!

Carson City Friday Family Fun Days returns to Mills Park June 21
Each Friday, event goers can find either live music or a community movie in the park along with a selection of food trucks. Kids actives include giant Jenga, giant 4-across, giant velcro kick darts, cornhole, bean bag skee ball, chicken fingers, and a selfie spot.

Bowers Mansion Programs on the Porch program begins in May with this year's theme is "Variety Edition." Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy this free series in front of the historic Bowers Mansion. Fridays from 7 to 8 p.m., May 17 through June 21.
Strawberry Full Moon Hike at Prison Hill
Join the Carson City Park Rangers for a moonlit hike underneath the Strawberry Moon. We will be adventuring up the North end of Prison Hill from the 5th St. Trailhead. This trail is considered "easy" to "more difficult" under the IMBA Trail Rating System. Expect some moderate terrain and sandy areas for about 2 miles. Be sure to bring closed toed shoes and plenty of water. This program is weather dependent. From 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Levitt AMP outdoor summer concert series returns to Carson City beginning June 22
The Levitt AMP Concert Series, Carson City’s popular free event, will be returning for another year beginning June 22 at the Brewery Arts Center. There are 10 shows total for this season’s concerts, ranging in genres from country to blues, reggae to surf rock, swing punk to jazz, and more.
Carson City Farmers Market returns June 8 with even more vendors at Mills Park
The market returns from June 8 to September 28 between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Mills Park.
Chess Club for all ages at the Carson City Library
Stop by and play chess, or learn to play chess, at the Carson City Library every Saturday from 12 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. All skill levels are welcome.
Nevada Outdoor Experience at the Capitol City Gun Club
The Nevada Outdoor Experience is sponsored and organized by the Wild Sheep Foundation. The goal of the FREE event is to excite and inspire the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts. Over thirty outdoor organizations are coming together, each adding their unique perspective on the outdoors to the event. This year's event takes place on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 9:00 to 1:00pm at Capitol City Gun Club (3590 Arrowhead Drive in Carson City, NV). Events include: archery, wildlife conservation, leave no trace ethics, trap and skeet, nature crafts, gold panning, metal detecting, rock climbing wall, and so much more. Simply show up the day of the event. However, pre-registering saves time the day of the event and ensures your child receives a goodie bag.
Join the Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department for a volunteer day at Voltaire Canyon! We will be meeting on Saturday June 22nd from 9:00am to 11:00am and will be focusing on cleaning up the vast amounts of trash out there. Tools, trash bags, and gloves will be provided.
